Saturday!

Well, it looks like I can't add a photo right now. But I jumped back into my couponing after my disaster earlier this week. I was pretty successful! So I'm really excited for this next week. I can say right now I did NOT stay under my 210$ goal. I paid for an oil change, softball fees, and had to pay my gardener. These next few weeks I will put aside a portion for those things so it doesn't skew my weekly report.

On another note, I started exercising again. Just a 60min walk on the treadmill. I still have a cough so I didn't want to be too strenuous on my lungs. It's a good start. It's also nice to eat chocolate to balance my day!

Tuesdays Results...

Today I went to Walgreens.

Rule #1... Don't go couponing with a head cold. My first transaction went well, but they all went downhill from there. Total for all the items : $121.01 OOP (out of pocket) 54.42 and I had $12 in register rewards left to go towards another purchase.
Like I said, the first transaction went well, but the second is where I ran into trouble. I completely spaced that I had too many coupons in the second transaction that did not allow me to use any of my register rewards cash. I ended up with $12 in RR that I couldn't use, so I paid 11.00 OOP and earned an extra $3 IN RR. Now I have $15.
I went home and tried to regroup and made a new shopping plan.
I should have stayed home, because the checker made such horrible mistakes that I didn't catch and instead of paying $5, I paid $16 OOP.
Overall, I did well - but it could have been better if I had been focused and remembered Walgreens coupon policy.

On the bright side... we have TP back in stock at our house, I'm set for a while on feminine care, the kids got their favorite cereals (that I never buy because they are always so expensive) , and I got my favorite crackers (that I can't have until I finish my cleanse). Oh, and Tim and I have plenty of soap and shampoo for Q1 of the year.
Yay!

Couponing...

Okay, so this is my new thing. Couponing. I've dabbled in it a little, and I really like how things are going. So now it's time to turn it up. Just as an example, we all have colds right now. So what I would usually do is run to the drugstore and buy cold medicine at Full price, tissues, and some Airborne or Emergan-C to help us kick it quickly. Cold relief runs me about $15 or the kids (name brand) and $12 for me and Tim (store brand). Tissues $1and I may pass on the Airborne if I'm already having a heart attack over the cost of the medicine.
Last month with my couponing, I picked up medicine for the kids AND us for about 20. Four boxes for them, four for us. Plus a three pack boxes of tissues. So when this hit, I was ready. I just have the sneezes, so I haven't used the cold meds yet. But it's all there, and I didn't pay full price.
Tomorrow I am all set for my shopping trip. I am taking a $50 bill and we will see if I can only spend that much and what I end up getting. It's like a game! And my friends know how competitive I am!
My goal for the month of January is to spend no more than $210 a week in groceries. That is 30$ per day!
Tim thinks is retarded. He hates the coupon clipping and sorting. But he's enjoying his cold meds!
Brianna loves the couponing. One week the total came to 58$ and after coupons it was $21. She thinks it's magic!

Alllllllmost done with this...

And then I'm not even going to worry about weight for 17 days.

Today we tried to wrap up as many loose ends as possible for vacation. The boys went and got haircuts, (buddy looks incredibly cute w/ his flat top) and we went down the hill to shop for some clothing. We got new socks, I got a skirt and camis, Courtney and Tim got shorts. We walked past the Coach store. Of course I had to go in and dream....
Well, when we walked in the lady at the front handed me a coupon for 30% off everything in the store. Hmmm... Yeah right....like that would make a difference. It was a mad house in there. People were grabbing stuff off the shelves like crazy. I saw a cute bag and when Tim did the calculations, it was going to be under $100. nice! But it wasnt perfect. I saw a lady walk by with a similar, more perfect bag on her arm. That one is better. So I went in search for one similar. Found it, Tim figured it would be just over 100$. But my iPad would still stick out. But it was cute and a good price.
We went round one more time and found aNOTHER bag, same pockets and everything, but twice as big. I was sad. No way would I be paying for that. The tag was for almost $400. Tim got in line and I found someone to check the price for me. When he figured it out, he had a big grin on his face. Under $200 with tax included. I almost cried.
I got in the long line with Tim and waited patiently. When the lady handed me the shopping bag, Tim had a smile on his face. I told him thank you sooooo much!
So I was done buying stuff for myself. Once we got in the car, I took everything out and put it in my new bag.... Everything fits with room to spare! Guess what is going on vacation with me????
It's beautiful... By far THE nicest purse I have ever owned. I've wanted a nice bag for so long and now I finally have it.

For dinner we went to El Torito. I had chicken and beef fajitas. Yes, I allowed myself to eat my sweet corn cake (my fave!)
I came home and slept. Now we are sitting in the loft together watching spongebob squarepants.

More good news, Courtney got into the geography class. So now I need to order her book. Plus the math teacher emailed her a temporary access code to his class so if she can get a spot in there she won't be behind in class work. Ahhhh things are definitely working out for us. I'm so happy.

More tomorrow.....

In the home stretch....Holding steady...

I don't know what happened... But I got really sick on Tuesday. I wanted to die. I started my morning fine, had breakfast with a friend...took the kids home, and then I got hit with a huge wave of nausea. I couldn't stand up, if I even looked at food I wanted to throw up. I made a great dinner earlier in the day and when Tim got home I couldn't stand to serve it. I was hot, I fell asleep, and when I woke up I broke into a deep sweat and then I felt a bit better so we went to the grocery store.
We got home, and I wanted to eat a little,( I had only eaten chicken at breakfast) so I had some baby sweet peppers and jello. My stomach calmed down, and the next morning I had some residual from it, but by the time 2 pm came around I felt better again. It was wierd...

So I'm stalled at the 150 mark... But I'm losing around my hips, butt n thighs because I was able to get on another pair of too small shorts, zip themup and not look like a stuffed sausage in them. So I added them to my vacation pile.

I was also on myfitnesspal.com yesterday...which has been tracking my weight since April. Not only have I lose the 11ish pounds on this diet, I have lost 17 pounds Total! That blew me away! Not to be vain, but I didn't think I had that much to lose. On the flip side, I am extremely proud, so even if I stall out at 150 at the end of this diet,i will be ok. Exercise and a healthy diet can take care of any extra pounds.

So enough about weight (although that consumes a good portion of my day because I am weighing portions and counting calories) my rundown of thepast few days...

It didn't look like Courtney was going to get into any of her classes this semester. But tuesday she came home with some hope, and her persistence is paying off for the math class... She is next on the list to get in. Today's class is a bit tougher, but the instructor wants her in, so we will see.
Softball is going pretty good... Our teams have picked up the pace and we are winning. Thank goodness!
As for the girls, they are coming into the season eager and pretty talented. I think we will have a strong team for sure. I am so proud of all of them, they are busting their butts and the ones that aren't trying as hard will be well acquainted with the bench. I only have 11, which is perfect for subbing and I already have a good idea on how they will rotate. But things can always change!
My sons team is struggling a bit... My son made like 3 errors in a scrimmage last week (which is not really like him, his defense is what they count on ) so today he gets a chance to redeem himself. Looking forward to it, even though I will miss tims game.

11.6 pounds lost... but its not a good day :(

Yes, I'm down the 11.6 pounds... Some of my shorts are getting a little too loose for my comfort, which means that I will probably have to go buy a couple of pairs before vacation. Yesterday I played softball in the extreme heat, and I am still retaining some of that water that I drank. My wrists and hands were feeling puffy this morning.
The sad news is that our dog Daisy is missing. We didn't notice until Bean went out to give them more water and check the food. I think we had been home for about 1 1/2 hours when Bean went out. Tim changed and went out driving and looking for her. The girls walked the neighborhood and I stayed home with Harrison in case she came back.
That dog NEVER strays. She has been spooked a few times and jumped over the gate, but always comes back to the front door and scratches to be let in. The gate is locked, so its not like someone could have taken her (she's heavy too - they would have been better off taking the shelties!)

I feel especially sad... Yesterday since everyone was sleeping in, I thought about getting her leash and taking her for a walk. She is so lazy. But I figured with the heat that would not be nice to make her walk with her fur coat on and decided she could lay in the shade of the patio instead.

Tim says we are not going to find her - someone is going to keep her. I hope they love her and cherish her. She's clumsy and annoying, but oh so loyal :( I take comfort in the fact that I have not seen her on the side of the road somewhere...

Drum roll please..... 10 lbs lost!

Well, it was 10.2.... but I made it! I still have 12 days left of this cycle to go though... so we will see what happens. I was a bit worried because I didn't have any oranges left and I didnt want to make a strawberry smoothie, so I ate a banana and a plum. Apparently those are both no nos.
I lost most of the weight in my stomach and chest. Not too much below to the hips thighs and butt. Oh well :(
I did my morning workout, felt good once again. Today I am going to try a crystal light drink and see how that goes. I can't get into tea, and coffee is gonna need some kind of sugar in it because its really bitter alone. It depends on how I feel tonight. If I really want it, I will have it. If not, I won't.

Today I am heading down the hill to buy some scandia wristbands so Courtney and her friends can spend the day there. Then probably to the grocery store so that I can buy some more fruit and bread, etc. for snacks and stuff.
And of course the pool needs to be swept out and refilled. Fingers crossed for no more algae!

Lots of other things to get done... yesterday I started cutting the fabric for some totes that I am making. One is going to be for knitting and I am sure Brianna will want one too so I am making a couple of extras.
